This is a 3D origami biplane based on a model posted by Olga Mozharova at [link] It should be obvious, but I didnt make it according to the directions posted (plus I had to use a translator and most of the time it was nonsense). The original model looks like a hybrid between a biplane and a water plane. I tend to look up real pictures before starting a project and couldnt find any pictures of a water plane that had dual wings so I decided to just concentrate on making it look like a biplane.
This project utilizes an interesting technique with the modules. You slot them from the side to make a flat weave-like pattern. I havent seen it much if at all. It makes me want to try making a pixelated design for something.
Materials: - Colored Paper (All are modules except for the wheels, nose, and supports) - Glue (Dries Clear Riiiight.)
Time: Estimated 25+ Hours
Modifications include (but are not limited to): - Color Pattern. - Base Count: 25 was reduced to 22 because the opening was too wide for me. - Omission of floats. Opted instead for wheels. - Omission of dowels/skewers. I used layered paper instead. - Propeller style. - Back end design. Included 2 more inverted rows for pattern.
I had never seen other 3-D models than the swan.
your plane looks better than the original one
